Arcam is based just outside Cambridge, England.  Their story started like many tech start-ups with two friends and a passion for music and electronics.  After meeting up while engineering students at Cambridge University, they founded Amplification and Recording Cambridge in 1976.

Arcam has been making amplifiers for 40 years, CD players for almost 30 years, and as far back as 1995 they expanded into home cinema electronics.  Throughout their history Arcam has developed a world-class reputation for making some of the best-sounding AV electronics in the business.

In home cinema they developed their own DVD players and, more recently, Blu-ray players from scratch.  Designed and manufactured in the UK, Arcam's extensive experience and world-class engineering consistently deliver products that compare favorably with other brands.
